Grazie al cielo la tregua è stata raggiunta, ed è entrata in vigore alle 20 ora italiana. Spero, anche se in Medio Oriente sperare è semplicemente un lusso.
Al hamdulillah, grazie al cielo la tregua è stata raggiunta, ed è entrata in vigore alle 20 ora italiana. Tra Israele e Hamas (ma anche la Jihad islamica) dovrebbero cessare le ostilità, se il cessate il fuoco verrà rispettato. Spero che a Gaza, stanotte, oltre un milione e è mezzo di persone possano finalmente dormire senza il terrore per sè, e per i propri cari, sotto l’incubo delle decine e decine di raid, sotto i bombardamenti incessanti che in otto giorni hanno causato circa 150 morti e oltre mille feriti. Circa 150 morti e oltre mille feriti. Un prezzo troppo alto. Un prezzo che grida allo scandalo.
Spero che la popolazione israeliana dorma sonni più tranquilli, nel sud di Israele, fuori dai rifugi. E che rifletta sull’ennesima guerra inutile, dannosa, sanguinosa, e sulla necessità di una risposta politica e non più solo militare. Spero che a Tel Aviv e a Gerusalemme si possa di nuovo prendere un autobus come lo si è preso negli ultimi anni, senza paura.
Spero che i palestinesi di Cisgiordania e Gerusalemme est guadagnino, da questo cessate il fuoco, una tregua alla loro demoralizzazione. E che di loro si ricordi, quando si pensa ai palestinesi, come uomini e donne che sono costretti a una vita non solo difficile, ma piegata dall’ingiustizia della crescita esponenziale delle colonie israeliane dentro la Cisgiordania e dentro Gerusalemme est.
Spero, anche se in Medio Oriente sperare è semplicemente un lusso.

Agreement of Understanding For a Ceasefire in the Gaza Strip
1: (no title given for this section)
A. Israel should stop all hostilities in the Gaza Strip land, sea and air including incursions and targeting of individuals.
B. All Palestinian factions shall stop all hostilities from the Gaza Strip against Israel including rocket attacks and all attacks along the border.
C. Opening the crossings and facilitating the movements of people and transfer of goods and refraining from restricting residents’ free movements and targeting residents in border areas and procedures of implementation shall be dealt with after 24 hours from the start of the ceasefire.
D. Other matters as may be requested shall be addressed.
2: Implementation mechanisms:
A. Setting up the zero hour for the ceasefire understanding to enter into effect.
B. Egypt shall receive assurances from each party that the party commits to what was agreed upon.
C. Each party shall commit itself not to perform any acts that would breach this understanding. In case of any observations Egypt as the sponsor of this understanding shall be informed to follow up.
